Compost Site

The Alma Compost site is approximately 1 1/2 miles south of Alma on US Highway 183 and then West up the hill.  (Second right turn after you cross Harlan County Lake)

NO HUNTING ALLOWED

The COMPOST SITE accepts, grass, trees, leaves, and garden waste. The locations for dumping the material are clearly marked (grass clippings to the south and everything else to the north) please take care and do not inter-mingle material. Please do not leave your trash bags at the COMPOST SITE, please take them back with you and toss in your trash toter.  Please help us keep our compost site and report anything or anyone not following the rules of the compost site.

ATTN: The City Council decided to leave the compost site open to the residents of Alma for the 2026 year.
